About

What does it mean to live a thoughtful life?

This question is the foundation of Revelthought.

This is a home for curiosity. It’s a journal and a space dedicated to exploring the connections between our everyday lives and the big ideas that shape them. It’s about finding the art in our questions and the meaning in our experiences, no matter the topic.

My name is Joe, and this project is my attempt to navigate that search.

The Moment That Changed the Questions

For me, the journey to thinking this way began with a single, haunting experience. During a challenging time in my life abroad, I came across two hawks trapped in a rusty cage, fighting desperately to escape. On an impulse, I bought them and set them free in the desert.

One flew off, strong and sure. The other stumbled, its wings too weak for the freedom it had been given.

That moment didn’t just leave me with a question about freedom; it taught me how to question everything. It showed me that the most important thoughts are often the most uncomfortable ones, and that paying close attention to them is a profound act of being alive. It became the catalyst for how I wanted to engage with the world: with open eyes and a willing heart.

A Home for Wide-Ranging Curiosity

This is not a website about a single subject. It’s a reflection of a curious mind, and I invite you to be curious with me.

  • The Reflections: Here, you’ll find essays on everything from the philosophy of our daily routines and the challenges of creative work, to stories about travel, purpose, and the search for connection. The only common thread is a commitment to exploring each topic with honesty and depth.
  • The Art: You’ll also find a gallery of original digital art. These pieces are visual responses to the wide array of ideas and feelings we explore in the writing.

This is a Reader-Supported Journey

Revelthought is an independent project, fueled by a community of people who believe in the value of curiosity and thoughtful storytelling. The art is the engine that keeps this space running.

If what you read and see here resonates with you, here are a few ways you can become a part of the journey:

  • Support the Curiosity: If you find value in these explorations, please consider making a donation. Your support helps keep this space ad-free and allows me to dedicate my time to creating more meaningful work.
  • Own a Piece of the Thought: Explore the Art Gallery. Every piece you purchase directly funds the future of Revelthought.
  • Follow the Path to a Book: My ultimate goal is to collect these wide-ranging reflections into a book. By supporting this site, you are helping make that dream a reality.

Thank you for being here and for bringing your own curiosity to this space.

Let’s revel in thought, together.
